Known Issues At This Time

Upload speed tests from the church building on April 17 showed speeds that would not sustain a broadcast. It is unknown if the condition existed Wednesday night. If it did, Face Book may have misinterpreted the signal interruption as the end of the video.  There is a question whether the satellite receiver at the building was disturbed from last Sunday's wind gust event.  A technician has been contacted to assess the receiver and upload speeds, and to make any necessary repairs.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having difficulty receiving the Live Stream broadcasts, the following may be of assistance in troubleshooting.

Symptom Possible Cause Possible Remedies
The video window is a black square. Your browser does not recognize the Face Book video player plug-in.
  • Use a different browser.
  • Use a different computer or device.
  • Email us with your operating system and browser version and we will investigate if there are alternative players we can add to the web page.
  • The video plays but has frequent interruptions or loss of signal. The video player is connected directly to Face Book.  It does not route through the church web site.

Either Face Book is not receiving smoothly the Live video upload from the broadcaster or your player is not downloading smoothly the Live video from Face Book.

  • Google "speed test" and run the "Internet speed test" on your device.  If the download speed is less than 3 Mbs, the problem may be, in part, the download speed from your internet provider.  Turn off any simultaneous internet applications you may be running to see if the problem is minimized.
  • If you have more than 3 Mbs, the problem may be, in part, on the broadcasting end.  Email us your speed test value and we will investigate.
  • The video plays but it s not the current live feed. To save on internet traffic, a copy of the web page is quite often saved on your device.  When you open the page, it retrieves the copy of the page from your device rather than getting a fresh page from the internet.  Alternatively, we may have not gotten the current live feed linked yet or properly.
  • Click on your browser refresh button to force it to get a fresh page.
  • If you are viewing before the scheduled broadcast time, wait until the broadcast start time and click on the browser refresh button.
  • If you are viewing after the broadcast start time, try closing the web page and reopening it to refresh the page.
  • If none of the above solves the problem, there is a good chance we didn't get the linking done correctly.  If you have tried the above, let us know on the simultaneous conference call and we'll make a remedy as soon as possible.
  • The video plays but the display is not clear. We may be limited on broadcast upload speed. We try to broadcast at the highest video resolution that can be reliably uploaded.  If upload speeds are limited, video clarity may be reduced to achieve a reliable signal.  Let us know if you are experiencing clarity problems and we will investigate solutions.

If you have other difficulties than listed above, please let us know and we will seek a solution and post it here for everyone's use.
